Egypt’s Exports To Italy Hike 50% In September Amid Morsi’s Visit

Egypt’s exports to the Italian market have surged by 50% during September amid the Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi’s visit to Rome. The Egyptian exports hit EGP 861 million during last month, compared to EGP 573 million in September 2011.

Source from Egyptian Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade told Amwal Al Ghad that the total exports to Italy have hit EGP 5.5 billion by the end of third quarter of 2012, 16% down from a year earlier which had amounted to EGP 6.6 billion.

The sources added that during the last nine months, Egypt’s exports to Italy were; building materials of EGP 1.8 billion, yarns and woofs of EGP 910 million, agricultural crops of EGP 407 million, food products of EGP 313 million, linen of EGP 263 million, chemical products and fertilizers of EGP 263 million and ready-made cloths of EGP 204 million alongside other sectors.
