Egypt’s exports of jewelry and precious stones increased by 12.8 percent to record $1.605 billion in the first 10 months of 2019, compared to $1.423 billion in the same period in 2018.
In its monthly report released on Thursday, the Export Council for Building Materials (ECBM) said the UAE topped the list of importing countries by 66.8% during the period from January to October 2019.
It underlined that Egypt’s exports to Canada upped by 379% to register $503 million in the first 10 months of 2019, against $105 million in the corresponding period of 2018.
Egypt’s exports to Jordan increased by 360% to hit $174,000 in the first 10 months of 2019, against $38,000 in the same period of 2018, according to the report.
Egypt’s exports of jewelry and precious stones to Lebanon receded by 98% from January to October 2019 to register $1.036 million, compared to $68 million in the same period of 2018, the report said.
