Egypt’s Cabinet decided on Wednesday to exempt the hotel and tourist establishments from the real estate tax until the end of the year.

The action covers aviation companies and the tourism sector, including its cafes, restaurants, hotels and other touristic establishments, according a statement.

The tourism sector in Egypt and worldwide is emerging as among the hardest-hit industries due to the coronavirus pandemic which forced lockdowns and restrictions on global travel for more than three months.
