The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) offered on Sunday treasury bills worth 18 billion Egyptian pounds ($1.1 billion) on behalf of the Finance Ministry.
The first tranche of T-bills is offered through 91-day notes valued at 8 billion pounds, while the second tranche is worth 10 billion pounds and will be offered through 273-day notes, CBE said on its official website.
The issuance will be used to finance the country’s budget deficit. State-owned banks are the top purchasers of the government debt instruments.
