Banque du Caire (BdC), Egypt’s third largest public state-lender, announced on Tuesday it had received the central bank’s e-signature licence.
This makes BdC the first bank in Egypt certified to exchange digitally signed banking forms, as well as documents related to cashflow management, foreign trade operations and securities.
The bank was granted the first licence to qualify electronic signatures of clients in the Egyptian banking sector by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), its chairman Tarek Fayed told reports.
This is a milestone that comes in line with Banque du Caire’s digital transformation vision and policies to expand into offering the optimal digital products and solutions, Fayed further said.
