Egypt’s Arab Contractors says work on Uganda projects 80% complete

Egypt’s state-run Arab Contractors (AC) said on Tuesday work on three major infrastructure projects in Uganda had been above 80 percent complete, with a total cost of $185 million.

These projects comprise three roads, AC’s board member Ibrahim Mabrouk told Amwal Al Ghad on Tuesday.

The first road is the Terini – Pallisa Koomi with a length of 67 km (41.6 miles), a total cost of $80 million, and an accomplishment rate of 80 percent, Mabrouk said.

The Egyptian official added that the second road is the Pallisa – Kamankoli with a length of 44 km, total cost of $60 million, and an accomplishment rate of 82 percent.

As for the third road, it is the Masaka – Boukakata, with a 41 km length, total cost $45 million, and an accomplishment rate of 60 percent, Mabrouk further stated.
