The head of Egypt’s Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Abdel-Moneim El-Terras met with a delegation from Russian automaker GAZ group on Sunday to discuss cooperation in the automotive industry, and how to transfer state-of-the-art Russian technology to Egypt.
El-Terras stressed the importance of cooperation with Russia in the light of the strong relations between President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and President Vladimir Putin, and the importance of the return of Russian companies to Egypt for industrial cooperation between the two sides.
The meeting included Russian trade representative in Cairo Nikolai Aslanov.
El-Terras praised the efficiency and quality of the Russian industry especially in the fields of microbuses, water desalination, railways, electronics, tractors, and heavy equipment.
For his part, Aslanov said Russian companies are enthusiastic about investing in industry and technology in Egypt, praising President El-Sisi’s efforts to achieve development.
