Egyptian exports of natural gas and its derivatives during January 2012; witnessed an increase of about 26.1%, as it reached about $ 201 million versus 159.4 million dollars during the same month of 2011, as the value increased by 41.9 million dollars.
The Center for Information and Decision Support Center of the Cabinet, said in its monthly indicators of economic and social development of Egypt; that the increase in natural gas production rate has recorded a slight increase of 15.0%, as the production volume reached 4056 thousand tons compared to 4050 thousand tons in January 2011, while the domestic consumption of natural gas also recorded an increase of 15.21% in last January, as it recorded 3364 thousand tons compared to 2920 thousand tones during the corresponding period of last year, as MENA stated.
The proportion of electricity consumption of natural gas also increased by about 2.6% to a record 55.4% versus 52.8% in January 2011.
