The Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority signed an MoU with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to boost women’s non-banking financial inclusion, according to a statement by the cabinet on Monday.

The MoU signed for Women’s Economic and Social Empowerment Programme, aiming to enhance women’s abilities to benefit from non-bank financial services, develop their businesses, and improve their standard of living.

The agreement aligns with the Sustainable Economic Development Goals for Egypt’s Vision 2023, which includes effective moves to expand women’s financial inclusion, the statement said.

The partnership also includes joint activities for women’s financial awareness to support their access towards non-bank financial products such as microinsurance, consumer finance and microfinance.
