Egypt, UAE, Jordan industrial partnership committee study 12 projects of $3.4 billion

The Higher Committee for the Integrated Industrial Partnership in Cairo reviews 87 projects in various sectors, including 12 are eligible for implementation in the first phase with of $3.4 billion.

Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry said in a statement that the first phase focuses of industrial cooperation between the three countries will focus on four key sectors; agriculture, food processing, fertilisers, and pharmaceuticals.

The Supreme Committee reviews work reports for the targeted sectors and meets with a number of heads of industrial companies that submitted their projects.

The meeting tackled ways to enhance relations between Egypt and Jordan especially at the economic and investment levels, means of boosting trade exchange, as well as bilateral cooperation in the transport field, it added.

The Arab economic integration is necessary to decrease the repercussions of the global economic crisis, Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea said.

Gamea added that is very important to improve the role of the private sector to implementing the sustainable development plans.

The committee is comprising Egypt, the UAE, and Jordan which entered into an industrial partnership in May to increase sustainable growth and explore opportunities for joint investments in priority sectors.
