Egypt Trade Minister inaugurates IATF2023

Egypt’s Minister of Industry and Trade Ahmed Samir has inaugurated on Thursday the third edition of Intra African Trade Fair (IATF2023), running from November 9 till November 15.

Samir welcomed Benedict Oramah, President of the African Export–Import Bank (Afreximbank) and Olusegun Obasanjo, chairman of IATF 2023 and former president of Nigeria.

This edition held amidst international and regional challenges and a very difficult global economic situation, since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic which affected negatively on many African countries, Samir added.

 

The fair is expected to have over 1,600 exhibitors, 35,000 visitors, and 75 exhibiting countries. It will feature business-to-business and business-to-government sessions, all geared towards ensuring healthy collaboration and competition to achieve the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).

IATF took place for the first time in 2018 at the International Exhibition Center, in Cairo, Egypt. It was organised by Afreximbank in collaboration with the African Union.
