Works on the third phase of Egypt’s National Roads Project will start by the beginning of financial year 2017/2018, Minister of Transport Hisham Arafat announced Tuesday.
The third phase will include the development of new roads at total length of 1000 kilometres, the Egyptian minister said during the third annual Builders of Egypt Forum, which kicked off in Cairo.
The national road network is a mega infrastructure project launched by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi back in August 2014.
The project includes the construction of new roadways with a total length of 7000 kilometres.
