The Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) has sent a medical aid shipment to South Sudan, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.
“The shipment comes as part of supporting the health sector in the brotherly country,” the statement read.
Egyptian Ambassador to South Sudan Ahmed Bahaa El-Din said that this is the second medical aid shipment provided by Egypt to South Sudan. The first shipment was sent in October 2018.
“Sending aid shipments to South Sudan reflects Egypt’s firm belief in the historical bonds and shared destinies of the peoples of both countries,” Bahaa El-Din said.
He explained that Egypt’s keeness on supporting the health sector in South Sudan is an integrated policy that views health as one of the most important pillars of development in the Nile basin country.
