Egypt is considering establishing a logistics centre in Djibouti to help boost its exports to the African markets, Ahmed Antar, head of the Egyptian Commercial Services Office (ECS), said Tuesday.
Egypt has inaugurated earlier in January the Egyptian Commercial Representation Office in Djibouti, amidst plans to boost its presence in the continent.
Antar further said that the Djibouti logistics centre project is part of Egypt’s strategy to double its exports to the African markets in the coming period.
Private sector firms will assist in establishing the logistics centre in Djibouti, the Egyptian official added.
