The Queen Tetisheri Pyramid, the last known pyramid for a queen in Ancient Egypt, has been restored, according to Moustafa Waziri, the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, on Friday.
The restoration work included the consolidation of the pyramid’s foundation and walls while also entailing its missing parts to provide visitors with a full view of what the pyramid looked like.
The pyramid’s bricks that were scattered around the site over centuries have been restored to their original positions on its walls, said the head of the Central Department for Upper Egyptian Antiquities, Mohamed Abdel-Badie.
Tetisheri was the mother of King Seqenenre, the ancient Egyptian King who led the war against the Hyksos. The pyramid was unearthed and discovered in 1902.
