Egypt is repairing roads around the Rafah border crossing from Egypt into the Gaza Strip, informed sources told local press on Thursday.
The government is repairing the roads to prepare in for the delivery of some of the aid stockpiled in Egypt’s Al-Arish in Sinai Peninsula.
The Rafah border crossing is the only crossing not controlled by Israel.
However, it has been bombed repeatedly since the beginning of the Israeli bombardment on the Gaza strip.
Egypt has been pushing towards a deal with the US and Israel to get aid delivered to Gaza, but Israel was not cooperating.
The White House announced on Wednesday that it agreed with Israel to allow up to 20 trucks, with hopes for more trucks later.
More than 100 trucks have been waiting on the Egyptian side for days.
Israel’s bombardment and siege of Gaza has been going on for more than ten days.
Israel is holding 2.3 million Palestinians hostage in Gaza without water, food, electricity, and medical aid.
