Egypt’s production of natural gas stands at an average of 7.2 billion cubic feet (bcf) per day, the cabinet said in a statement on Saturday.
Production stood at 7 bcf last September, up from 6.8 bcf at the end of June 2019, Reuters reported.
Rapid growth in Egypt’s natural gas supplies over recent years turned it from a net importer to exporter in late 2018.
In January, Egypt began importing gas from Israel as part of efforts to turn itself into a regional gas hub.
