Leasing activities in Egypt recorded a 34.6 percent y-o-y rise throughout the first quarter of 2018, recording 7.5 billion Egyptian pounds compared to 5.6 billion pounds a year earlier.
Leasing contracts decline by 14 percent to record 408 contracts in the first quarter of 2018, compared to 476 contracts for the same period in 2017.
Properties and lands topped the list of activities by acquiring the largest market share 69 percent of leasing contracts worth 5.2 billion pounds. Coming in the second position, equipment and machinery captured a 4.2 percent market share of leasing contracts worth 324 million pounds. Trucks ranked third seizing leasing contracts worth 252 million pounds.
The total number of registered leasing companies reached 226 compared to 224. Meanwhile, 27 companies were the most active throughout the first half of 2016 compared to 22 companies in the previous year.
