Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat, said reveals the launch of an Arab Digital Academy that offers self-paced and free training for youth in Egypt and the Arab world.

He added that his ministry is working on building  trained and specialized cadres in the modern technologies.

Talaat further noted that the cutting-edge technology is considered to be the main base of the global economy and a fundamental pillar of sustainable comprehensive development.

He made these comments during the official opening of 22nd round of Cairo International Exhibition and Conference on Telecommunication and Information Technology (ICT 2018) in the presence of President Abdel Fatah el Sisi.

The exhibition  will be held at Egypt International Exhibitions Center under the slogan: Driving Transformation. It will run until November 28.

This event delivers a strong message that the ICT industry in Egypt is well-established, and has the capabilities that can be solidified, Talaat said. “The exhibition provides an opportunity for foreign companies to share with us the latest developments related to communications and information technology.”

Talaat said this year’s exhibition will witness the representation of a number of ministries across different pavilions, and this is due to the fact that the telecommunications industry has become a fundamental pillar for all state sectors as no field can now grow without relying on ICT.

This year’s edition is focusing on the issue of digital transformation, in light of the government’s plans for mechanizing all services extended to the public.
