Egypt intends to participate in Dubai’s INDEX International Design Exhibition 2015 with a pavilion encompassing 20 Egyptian firms, the country’s Export Council for Handicrafts chairperson Randa Fahmy said Monday.
The Egyptian pavilion includes 8 firms working in the furniture sector.
INDEX International Design Exhibition will take place form May18-21, 2015 in Dubai.
INDEX is the largest business platform for the interior design and architecture community to source products for their projects across the residential, retail and hospitality projects.
Hosting a number of features and events, INDEX will bring the architecture and design community together to discuss, debate, and discover the latest industry trends, developments and innovations.
During the workshop of Expo Milano 2015-organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Cairo -Today, Fahmy clarified that Egypt is currently caring for traditional crafts to cope with world’s care of such products.
She noted that the main purpose of forming EECH is to upgrade the quality of handicraft products and promotes them for foreign markets.
Moreover, the chairperson pointed out that EECH is currently preparing to organize a trade mission to Italy to make use of Expo Milano 2015 as the council intends to hold major event – in cooperation with Egypt Expo&Convention Autority (EECA) – during Holy Ramadan Month to present some products that represent Egyptian ancient and recent heritage.
Expo Milano 2015 is the universal exhibition that will take place in Milan, Italy from May 1 to October 31, 2015 in which 140 participating countries will show the best of their technology that offers a concrete answer to a vital need: being able to guarantee healthy, safe and sufficient food for everyone, while respecting the Planet and its equilibrium.
