Egypt has been named on Monday a winner at Ookla’s Speedtest Awards for the fastest fixed internet speed in Africa during the first and second quarters of 2022.
The award came due to the constant efforts exerted by the Egyptian Ministry of Communications to upgrade the infrastructure, resulting to witnessing a median fixed internet speed of 46Mbps, compared to 6.5Mbps in 2019.
Communications Minister Amr Talaat has received the Ookla award on the sidelines of the 42nd edition of GITEX Global taking place in Dubai.
