Dr.Fouad Eissa, the head of the Egyptian International Trade Point of the Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade, said the common market between Egypt and Iraq meets the requirements of more than 50% of Arab consumers, allowing an increase in the volume of trade exchange between both countries.
Eissa told Amwal Al Gahd that the Trade Point will focus on the Iraqi market in the upcoming period. Eissa called on the Egyptian and Iraqi authorities to implement more methods in order to increase the volume of trade exchange between both countries as the average volume of trade exchange between both countries is about US$ 500 million annually.
Kazem Jawad, assistant to the Iraqi Trade Minister, told Amwal Al Ghad that the Iraqi authorities plan to increase the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Egypt through increasing the exchanged goods and supporting e-communication methods between the Egyptian Trade Point and the trade point that will be established in Iraq by the end of 2012 under the sponsorship of Egypt.
