Egypt-India trade exchange falls 2.1% in first 9 months of 2018

Trade exchange between Egypt and India dropped 2.1 percent to about $2.412 billion during the first nine months of 2018 from $2.462 billion in 2017.

Last September, Egyptian trade with India fell 5.3 percent to $280.652 million from $265.728 million during the same month in 2017, Egypt’s state-run statics agency CAPMAS in its bulletin said on Monday.

“Egypt’s imports from India declined 16 percent to $1.563 billion during the first nine months of 2018 against $1.864 billion during the same period in 2017,” CAPMAS added.

Imports reduced 8 percent to $162.663 million in September, compared with $177.986 million a year earlier.

“Egypt’s exports to India increased 42 percent to around $848.994 million from $598 million in 2017,” the agency said, adding that exports went up by 34.5 percent last September.
