Egypt’s Planning Minister Halal al-Saeed discussed on Monday with Vice President of Huawei Company Mark Xueman boosting bilateral cooperation, on the sidelines of the World Youth Forum (WYF).
The forum kicked off in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El Sheikh on Saturday and is running for four days.
In a statement, the planning ministry said the two sides reviewed projects of top priority in the planning and administrative sectors in Egypt.
They discussed the government’s efforts to provide a favourable legislative and investment environment to achieve digital transformation.
El-Saeed expounded security and political challenges that faced the implementation of the comprehensive administrative development plan.
She said the economic reform program launched by the government to lure investments, improve the business climate, rationalise energy subsidies and achieve partnership with the private sector requires enacting new legislation to simplify procedures and ease burdens on investors.
The Huawei official shed light on the forms of assistance that the company can offer to optimise the use of information technology and communications to serve economic and development goals.
