Gold prices today in Egypt fell by around 4 Egyptian pounds ($0.25) per gram.
According to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad on Monday, the price of 21-carat gold, the most popular in the local market, traded at 700.3 pounds, while 18-carat gold reached 600.26 pounds.
The decline in local market was in line with the recent fall in the prices of the yellow metal by $7 to $1,556 per ounce.
