Egypt forms committee to draw five-year plan for raising exports to Africa

Egyptian Trade Minister Tarek Qabil issued a decree Thursday to form a committee to design a plan and a strategy to hike state’s exports to Africa for upcoming five years.

The committee is set to be headed by Khaled Abu El Makarem -Chairman of Egyptian Chemicals Export Council (CEC)- and to include Walid Gamal Eldin -Head of Building Materials Export Counil-, Randa Fahmy -Chairperson of Export Council for Handicrafts-, Hani Berzi -Head of Food Export Council-, and Amr Aboufreikha -Head of Engineering Export Council- as members.

According to the decree, the committee would have to submit its business results to the minister within 30 days of issuing the decree.
