Egypt, Finland in talks over economic cooperation

Egypt and Finland seek to enhance the future of economic cooperation and the means of boosting trade exchange and joint investments.

These remarks were made by Egyptian Minister of Industry and Trade Minister Amr Nassar during his meeting with Finnish Ambassador to Egypt Laura Kansikas-Debraise.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said the meeting reviewed a Finnish industrial project in Egypt in the field of producing flexible packaging materials which will be inaugurated this month.

The new project serves the local market and will export its products to markets in Africa, Europe, and the Arab world, Nassar said.

The ministry supports all investments in Egypt in general and the Finnish investments in particular specially in the fields of developing the medium and small industries sector in Egypt to promote national economic growth rates, he said.

Meanwhile, the Finnish ambassador lauded the economic reform programme that is implemented by the Egyptian government.
