Egypt Calls Cypriot Firms to Join ‘World Economic Forum’ in February

Egyptian Industry and Trade Minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour has called from Cyprus Ambassador in Cairo to provide a list of names for the proposed companies by the Cypriot government to take part in the World Economic Forum in which Egypt is planning to launch by next of February21-22.

Cyprus Ambassador in Cairo Sotos Liasides explained that the invitation will include all the sectors most notably financial, industrial, communication, energy and construction.

It is currently preparing the general scheme for developing Suez Canal Axis project which will include all the technical details of the projects and it will be announced by next February, stressing that the projects will focus on making Egypt’s commercial and industrial fields a starting point regionally, Abdel Nour noted.

Cypriot companies took over great important to invest in Egypt especially in Suez Canal Axis Development project as well as the companies are keen on investing in Egypt’s energy projects whether electronic or renewable energies, Liasides asserted.

The total trade volume between the two companies reached around €67.5 million in the last year and also the total numbers of Cypriot companies which invested in Egypt are around 140 firms.
