Egypt’s Ministry of Higher Education has established three private universities across the country, with investments of 48.5 billion Egyptian pounds ($2.9 billion), minister Khalid Abdel Ghaffar told Mubasher on Sunday.

Abdel Ghaffar made these remarks on the sidelines of the opening ceremonies of celebrating the Science Day.

“The universities were built in partnership with the Egyptian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Housing,” the Egyptian minister said.

The universities include King Salman University in South Sinai, Arab Academy for Science in Hadabet El Galala, Alamein University in New Alamein city, and New Mansoura University in New Mansoura, Abdel Ghaffar added.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi had started the Science Day ceremonies with the presence of the prime minister and a number of ministers and professors.
