Egyptian National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) has awarded on Tuesday Thales a new contract to design and build the telecommunications, centralised control and ticketing systems for the Cairo Metro Line 4 Phase 1.
Thales will deliver complete communication and supervision systems for the project such as; radio, multi service network, wayside telephone, wireless LAN systems, wayside equipment for security systems, passenger information and public address, and operations control centre.
A consortium of Hassan Allam Construction, Arab Contractors, Petrojet and Concord for Engineering & Contracting is working on the civil works package for the first phase of Line 4.
“We are proud to have been selected together with our partners to help grow Greater Cairo Metro,” Thales’s vice president Benoît COUTURE, said in a statement.

Earlier, Thales had delivered the first ticketing system for Cairo Line 1 project and the integrated communication, supervision, and ticketing solutions for Line 2 and 3 projects.
