Foreign investments in Egypt’s domestic debt instruments rose to $9.8 billion during the financial year 2016/2017, said Deputy Minister of Finance for Monetary Policies Ahmed Kouchouk on Sunday.
Foreigners’ investments in treasury bills (T-bills) amounted to $1.25 billion in June, and to around $9 billion since the flotation of the Egyptian pound, Kouchouk further added.
The Egyptian official stated that foreign investments in Egypt’s domestic debt instruments earlier stood at $1.1 billion during the financial year 2016/2015.
