Egyptian Exchange (EGX) achieved record gains during the first term of office of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi as the market capital gained 470 billion Egyptian pounds ($26.3 billion) on Thursday to reach 930 billion pounds, up by 102 percent from 460 billion pounds during June 2014.
This is the biggest ever gains achieved by the bourse in any period with expectations that new records will be achieved during the second term of President Sisi.
The EGX 30 benchmark index also hit a record during Sisi’s first term as it recorded 16,414 points for the first time in the bourse’s history.
