EGPC: Egypt to Import First Natural Gas Shipments by March

It will import the first natural gas shipments from abroad by the next March, stressing that there are 6 major refineries in Egypt alongside Midor refinery which increased crude oil refining operations, said Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC)’s Vice Chairman Amr Mostafa.

Mostafa added in a keynote speech at ‘Builders of Egypt’ Cairo Conference on Wednesday that these refineries operate at about 75% of production capacity as result of lacking in crude oil, the production capacity of  Midor is nearly 38 million tonnes annually, explaing that the petroleum sector produces 50% of the volume of butane  general consumption, 85% of general benzene consumption and 65% of diesel consumption.
