Economic State’s Impact On Labor Movements Discussed Today by ICATU

The International Confederation of Arab Trade Union (ICATU) held on Wednesday morning its regular session, which will last for 2 days in Cairo, to discuss the economic state in the Arab world and its reflection on the Arab labor movement.

The session discussed the plan as well the activity of the general secretariat, in addition to the reports and memorandums that it has submitted. It also submitted a memorandum about the political developments in the Arab world.

For his part, Rajab Maatouk, General Secretary of the ICATU, has affirmed the necessity of this session, because it will draw up the union’s future, its activity and the commitment of the trade unions to the union’s decision.

A number of representatives from the unions and specialists in the business sector attended the session; in addition to Ahmed M. Luqman, General Director of Arab Labor Organization, and Khaled Al Azhary, Egyptian Minister of Manpower and Immigration.
