Dollar stablised against Egyptian pounds in 19 banks during interbank dealings on Thursday.
For the biggest banks in the country, the National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr, Banque du Caire, Commercial International Bank (CIB), dollar was quoted at 16.5 for buying and 16.9 to the pound for selling.
A week earlier, the central bank abandoned the pound’s peg of 8.8 to the dollar in an effort to attract inflows of capital and close down a booming black market in dollars.
The table below demonstrates the selling and buying prices of dollar against the Egyptian pound in 19 banks, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad on Thursday.
