Egypt plans to launch direct flights between Alexandria and the Cypriot city of Paphos within six months, the governor of the country’s second largest city said on Saturday.
“We expect to have two flights between Alexandria and Paphos a week,” Abdel-Aziz Qonsowa said at a press conference.
On Saturday morning, a Cypriot cruise ship carrying 500 tourists of different nationalities arrived in Alexandria port. SALAMIS FILOXENIA ship carries on board Phedonas Phedonos, Mayor of Paphos, alongside a high-level official delegation coming from Cyprus to visit Alexandria.
Phedonas Phedonos, Mayor of Paphos, said in the coming period, Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus would witness tourism programmes to stimulate tourism.
“Alexandria will witness a tourist boom in the coming period.” Qonsowa added.
