Trade exchange between Egypt and China stood at US$12 billion in 2015, according to minister-counsellor QI Qianjin of the Chinese embassy in Cairo.
China is Egypt’s biggest trade partner, Qianjin said during an inaugural keynote at the Egyptian-Chinese Businessmen Forum kicked off in Egypt Tuesday.
The Chinese investments in the North African country recorded US$5 billion, involving infrastructure, natural gas, oil sectors in addition to the development of Suez Canal Industrial Zone project.
