The Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce has revealed that the volume of the Egyptian exports to Canada in 2012 recorded $ 515.8 million: achieving $ 67million surplus in Egypt’s trade of balance.
Ahmed Al Wakeel, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Chamber of Commerce, stated that the volume of the trade exchange between Egypt and Canada jumped from $ 180 million in 2011 to $ 964.3 million in 2012, by 467% growth rate; mention that the BoT is now for Egypt’s interest, especially it achieved $116 million deficit in 2011, it turned to surplus in 2012 at value of $67 million.
He added that Egypt’s exports to Canada in 2012 attained $515.8 million, in return for $ 448.5 million in 2011; emphasizing that these numbers may be multiplied many times if Egypt focused on the Canadian market, which has heft trade volume.
During his meeting with Ambassador David Drake, Canadian Ambassador to Cairo, Al Wakeel mentioned that Canada ranks the 10th among the OECD, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development; calling on businessmen to eye the Canadian market, which can receive numerous Egyptian industrial and agricultural products.
