Cairo is to host the 10th meetings of the joint economic committee of Egypt and Russia next week, Egyptian trade minister Tarek Qabil stated Sunday. The meetings are set to be headed by Qabil and his Russian counterpart.
The minister made these remarks during the bilateral discussions with Sergei V. Kirpichenkov , Russian ambassador to Egypt, in which the two parties reviewed the future of strategic relations between Egypt and Russia.
The officials also reviewed the preparations for Russian delegation’s visit to Egypt.
The minister added that the governmental Russian delegation will be accompanied with a mission encompassing businessmen who represent more than 60 large Russian firms that keen on working in the Egyptian market.
He added that the ministry is to hold a joint business forum in which businessmen of Egypt’s private sector will participate to discuss mutual investment opportunities.
Qabil said that the committee’s meetings come as pursuant to the keen of Egypt and Russia to maximize political and economic bilateral relations.
During the visit, Egypt and Russia are set to sign the memorandum of constructing the Russian industrial zone in Gulf of Suez in addition to signing an agreement between Russian Direct Investment Fund and a number of Egyptian banks to provide necessary funds to establish joint investment projects between Egyptian and Russian businessmen.
