Building Materials Sector witnesses relative stability of prices, although the diesel crisis that the market is facing, as well raising the power bill on the productive factories; which negatively reflected on the traders, for whom the cement is imported, as the freight fees increased.
Ahmed Al Zainy, Head of the General Division for Building Materials, at the Federation of Egypt Chambers of Commerce, said the prices of the building materials stabilized, compared to the prices last week. The cement’s price ranges between EGP 450- 550, according to the type and the producing company.
Al Zainy referred that the price of the cement, which is produced by the military’s factories, is relatively less among the other types in the market. Its price ranges between EGP 350-395, while the price of the local steel is between EGP 4400 – 4450 per ton, and the consumer buys it with 4450-4500 per ton.
The prices of Ezz Steel increase by EGP 50, whereas the ton recorded 4450-4600, and the customer buys with EGP 4500-4650 per ton.
Al Zainy has called for cancelling the subsidiary on the power and gas which are used by the companies and factories of producing cement in order to be distributed on those who deserve them, he also called for issuing a law stipulates the profit margin of the foreign companies in Egypt, according to the global prices as a maximum limit.
