BSH Home Appliances, a subsidiary of German Bosch, has announced on Monday the groundbreaking of its first factory in Egypt and Africa to produce home cooking stoves, at total investment of about €50 million.
BSH plant is located on an area of 160,000 square metres in the 10th of Ramadan city, and will provide 1000 direct and indirect job opportunity to produce home cooking stoves with German technology.
The factory is a milestone for BSH’s business in Africa and the region, which will improve quality of life at home for consumers in Africa and in the Middle East, BSH said in its statement.
“It is a great pleasure to celebrate at this place, where ancient civilization meets modern manufacturing,” said Rudolf Klötscher, Chief Sales & Service Officer and Head of Region Emerging Markets.
The group aims to export half of the plant’s production to various countries in Africa and the Middle East, before the end of 2024, with an annual production capacity of 350,000 units.
Klötscher thanked the Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly and all government agencies concerned with investment in an earlier meeting for their support in the process, according to cabinet statement.
BSH seeks to contribute Egyptian economy growth and development by creating new jobs and using local resources to provide the greatest value to Egyptian society.
