Banque Misr’s BM Lease has grabbed 16.65 percent of the Egyptian leasing market share during 2020, recent data from the country’s watchdog showed.
According to the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), the January-May leasing contracts in Egypt have totalled 58.868 billion Egyptian pounds ($1.35 billion) during 2020, slightly up from 55.874 billion pounds a year earlier.
CORPLEASE, Cairo Leasing Corporation (CLC) ranked second, garnering 12.31 percent of the Egyptian leasing market share, followed by , GB Lease – part of Ghabbour Auto Company with 9.6 percent of the market.
Meanwhile, EFG Hermes Leasing, part of EFG Hermes Holding, had 8.96 percent of the market share ranking fourth, , followed by Al Ahli Leasing Company – part of National Bank of Egypt (NBE) – of 6.55 percent.
Coming in the sixth position, Bayt El Khebra for Leasing (Technolease) followed by GlobalCorp in the seventh place with 5.39 market share.
At the bottom of FRA’s top ten list came UE Finance, Al Tawfeek for Financial Lease (AT Lease), and Cairo Lease
