Egypt’s second largest bank, Banque Misr, in collaboration with Visa and ExxonMobil Egypt, initiated on Thursday a strategic partnership to expand electronic payment for petroleum services through 100 Exxon Mobil stations, as a first stage.
Akef al-Maghraby, the Deputy Chairman of Banque Misr, said that this partnership aims to push the efforts of financial inclusion as one of the axes of economic development which drives growth by extending access to financial services to various segments of society.
Visa card holders will be able to use their cards to pay at Exxon Mobil stations, said Maghraby.
Banque Misr will push this partnership forward by installing electronic payment machines at petrol stations.
The bank will develop loyalty programs and rewards for participating stations as well as card holders who use their cards to pay for different services provided at petrol stations, to encourage e-payment through Banque Misr machines, he added. Source: Al-Masry Al-Youm
