The Central Bank of Egypt revealed that the total loans from banks to customers increased to1.892 trillion Egyptian pounds at the end of February 2020.
This compared to 1.866 trillion Egyptian pounds in total loans at the end of January 2020, an increase of 26 trillion Egyptian pounds
The volume of loans granted to the government reached 519 billion pounds, of which 288.3 billion pounds were in local currency and 230.8 billion Egyptian pounds in foreign currencies.
The total non-governmental loans increased to 1.373 trillion pounds , of which about 1.116 trillion pounds in the local currency and the equivalent of about 256.732 billion pounds in foreign currencies.
In the same context, the CBE revealed that bank investments in securities and treasury bills reached about 2.201 trillion pounds by the end of February 2020, compared to 2.189 trillion pounds at the end of January 2020.
