Arabic Wikipedia declared on Saturday via its account on the X platform that it will shut down its website on Sunday for a full day in protest against the Israelis’ attacks on Gaza that started on October 7th.
“In solidarity with Palestinian rights…Stop genocide in Gaza…Stop killing civilians…Stop targeting hospitals and schools…Stop misinformation and disinformation…Stop double standards,” according to Wikipedia’s statement.
The website’s logo was also changed to feature a Palestinian scarf over the Wikipedia logo in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
