Egypt’s state-run construction firm Arab Contractors targets business volume up to 1 billion Egyptian pounds ($57.2 million) in Africa within 2019, a senior official in the firm announced on Sunday.
This comes as part of the firm’s scheme to compete for implementing various infrastructure projects in a number of African countries, head of African sector Ibrahim Mabrouk further added.
“We are currently studying the establishment of two road flagships in Tanzania and Côte d’Ivoire,” Mabrouk said, referring that these projects will be financed by the government as well as a bunch of international and Islamic banks.
Arab Contractors had earlier delivered a major road project in Ethiopia, at a cost of $55 million and length of 95km, besides a hospital in Uganda, at a cost of $25 million and a capacity of 500 beds, he noted.
“We developed an airport in Abidjan during September 2018, at a cost worth €30 million,” Mabrouk said.
