Egypt’s Arab Contractors has won new mandates in the country’s new capital and New Alamein city, raising its total turnovers in the two areas to 17 billion Egyptian pounds ($949.3 million).

The Egyptian state-run construction firm’s turnovers in the new capital project amount to 11 billion pounds and 6 billion pounds in New Alamein, its chairman Mohsen Salah said on Monday.

“The company is currently utilising 550 feddans in the new capital,” Salah said, adding that the mandates will include implementing El Fattah El Aleem Grand Mosque that is one of the major giant facilities in the state.

The works will also encompass 78 residential buildings and a number of drinking water and sewage stations as well as road projects and the expansion works of the new capital’s governmental district, he added.

Arab Contractors has been tasked with executing the concrete works of three towers in New Alamein in partnership with a number of private-sector firms, Salah said.

“We are looking to carry out new works in Africa,” Salah said, adding that the works focus on implementing infrastructure, road, and bridges projects.
