A private Egyptian company is planning to import natural gas from Israel for re-export in the first quarter of 2019.

The North African company will begin importing gas in small quantities and will gradually increase the imports to reach their climax in September 2019, Reuters reported, citing sources in the Egyptian energy sector.

In February, Israel’s Delek Group announced two ten-year deals worth a combined $15 billion to sell natural gas to Egyptian private company Dolphinus Holdings.

The partners in Israel’s Tamar and Leviathan offshore gas fields have the agreements to export around 64 billion cubic metres of gas to the Egyptian firm.
