African, German officials praise Egypt’s economic performance

Participants from Africa and Germany, who addressed a recent conference organised in Germany by the Association for Free Research and International Cooperation (AFRIC), lauded Egypt’s economic performance which they described as a model to follow in the African continent.

Participating in the conference, which is dubbed “Africa 2040; vision of the future,” is Egypt’s Ambassador to Germany Badr Abdel-Ati along with the African ambassadors accredited to Germany, members of the Bundestag, representatives for the academic companies and institutions and research centers in Germany, Europe and African countries and NGOs.

In his speech, Abdel-Ati highlighted Egypt’s priorities during its African Union (AU) presidency, atop of which helping African countries bring about security, resolve conflicts peacefully and achieve sustainable development in addition to luring more foreign direct investments to the continent.

Abdel-Ati also shed light on the various achievements that Africa has witnessed during Egypt’s AU presidency, topped by bringing the African Continental Free Trade Agreement into effect.

He reviewed the positive developments that Egypt is witnessing in various political, economic, social, and security fields, particularly the great improvement of the macroeconomic indicators as a result of implementing the economic reform programme.
