Afreximbank signs €141 million deal with Vista Group for Oragroup acquisition

The African Export–Import Bank (Afreximbank) has signed on Saturday a $141 million term sheet under the intra-Africa investment finance facility with Vista Group.
Under the agreement, Afreximbank supports Vista Group’s €140 million acquisition of Oragroup marked by the signing of the term sheet. As the sole lender in this transaction, the bank is contributing to reshaping Africa’s financial landscape. Vista Group, currently a full-service financial institution, is working to become a leading pan-African banking institution operating in 14 countries with 265 branches, expanding to 10 additional countries in West and Central Africa.
The strategic move aligns with Afreximbank’s vision for inorganic growth through mergers and acquisitions. The acquisition of Oragroup marks a significant milestone in Vista Group’s strategic pursuit, positioning them as a tier banking player in Sub-Saharan Africa region.

Kanayo Awani – Executive Vice President, Intra-African Trade Bank at Afreximbank, has signed the agreement with Yassin Bayo, CEO of Vista Group, at the third edition of Africa’s largest trade and investment fair, IATF 2023 in Cairo, Egypt.
